Support Meetings

A forum for discussing and resolving issues relevant to your personal family situation. These are held at the Akron Community Support Services Offices, 150 Cross Street on Tuesdays at 7PM.
Additional meetings are held in Hudson, 47 Aurora Street, on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 7PM and in Montrose at the Akron General Wellness Center West on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

Speaker Series

These are held periodically to present topics of timely interest from the field of mental health. Watch our web site and newsletters for announcements.

Housewarming

Housewarming provides new, basic household items to assist persons who can now live independently. Since the program’s inception, over 1,000 requests weere filled, aiding in the transition to leading and independent life.

Needy Soles

Needy Soles footwear provides shoes, socks and other footwear to those who cannot afford to buy their own. KMart vouchers are provided throught our local Community Support Services organization.

Hair Care Program

Limited income can mean sacrificing basic personal care. A trip to the barber shop or salon promotes self-confidence while providing a basic need. Clients may obtain a voucher redeemable at the Akron Barber College.

Creative Kids Program

Creative Kids Program provides funding for low income children diagnosed with mental illness to attend extra curricular activities to supplement and advance their recovery.
